Cross-Network Laboratory Coordination

The coordination of laboratory activities is one of the top priorities with the greatest potential impact for DAIDS and the Networks. Staff from the DAIDS Laboratory Working Group and the Laboratory Principle Investigators and Managers from each Network Laboratory participate in cross-network laboratory working groups to identify opportunities to coordinate and streamline laboratory activities and processes.

Much of the ongoing laboratory coordination work centers around:

  • Maintaining a structure and processes for consistent communication and access to critical information.
  • Establishing standard quality assurance across networks and other partners.
  • Harmonizing laboratory processes and procedures to reduce redundancy, increase efficiency and clarify expectations, especially at shared site laboratories.
